Jagannath : Menus Of GOD

menus

JAGANNATH My personal almighty is FUN. As I say we have a menu of GODs, where people from any background, nature, or belief system can choose their own God.  And he or she can connect with the Almighty and find peace. India is a vast land with diverse traditions, and over time, different regions have developed their own experiences and deities. Now that the country is united, we respect all deities. But in essence, it is the same One Almighty appearing in different names and forms. We can think it like a divine fancy dress.

Jagannath : The One in Many Forms

Three duties

As I understand, Jagannath is manifested according to human capacity, aligned with nature, food, and living styles. The divine presence is not limited to a single form but adapts to different cultures and perceptions. Whether you call Him by one name or another, it all leads back to the same source of supreme energy. All are the same. The Three, Brahma (Creator), Vishnu (Preserver) and Shiv (Destroyer), are the same and these three are the duties of the One. I call him Jagannath you may call him Shiv or anything you wish. But there is SHAKTI.

The Divine Energy: Shakti

Shakti Parvati, sita, draupadi

Beyond the three primary duties of creation, sustenance, and evolution performed by Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, there is Shakti—the energy that resides in everyone. Shakti is the energy that gives us the ability to do anything, even to think. The meaning of Shiva itself is not just Mahadev but pure consciousness. This energy flows within us, yet most of us remain unaware of it. Why we see Shakti as a female ? One of the key reasons for this feminine depiction is that Shakti represents creation and nurturing, qualities inherently associated with the female form in nature.

Jagannath : Where Does Reside?

jagannath, puri, odisha

Jagannath is omnipresent. But within the human body, the divine resides in the head and flows through the spine—both of which are not visible to the eyes. We have a minor part of this divine energy within us, much like a battery cell that keeps a toy running. This energy sustains our life, but unlike a simple battery, we do not yet understand how to manifest the soul back into the body or another form. Since normal humans like me cannot see these divine aspects, we use idols to connect and feel sane.

A Personal Connection with Jagannath

Contiloe films

Once, during a phase of deep struggle, I visited the temple and, in anger and frustration, scolded Him for fifteen minutes. Before leaving, a thought came to my mind—I asked for a job where I could see Him most of the time. To my surprise, I was offered a position as a Vfx Shoot Supervisor at Contiloe Productions, where the company’s logo—Jagannath’s face—was everywhere. It was an unexpected yet exciting moment that made me realize that He listens.

Leaving Challenges to Jagannath

I don’t take challenges upon myself; instead, I leave them to Him and try my best. This approach makes me feel lighter and at peace. I believe that divine intervention is real and that Jagannath guides us in ways beyond our understanding.

Final Thoughts

Hinduism does not have multiple gods; it has multiple manifestations of the One Almighty, making it accessible to people of different backgrounds and beliefs. Since India is a big country and communication was not there in ancient times, every region developed its own form and understanding of the divine. Now that India is united, we acknowledge and respect all these different beliefs. Unlike the Abrahamic religions, which have a more singular structure, we embrace diversity in worship and prayer processes. But at the end, we live peacefully.
